TurboCAD Professional, Standard and Designer v8.0 users can now
download (free of charge) a patch file to upgrade their version 8.0 and
8.1 files to version 8.2.
The patch file when run will ask for the
original TurboCAD v8.0, v8.1 setup files. It will then use the older
installation files to create a new set of installation files on the hard
drive.
1. Download the patch file
Due to the largish nature of the download it has been supplied in two locations:
A. One File - recommended for High Bandwidth
For users of DSL or Cable, or other high bandwidth Internet connections:

TurboCADDesignerv82Patch.exe (5.5 MB)
If you are using MS Internet Explorer, right-click the file and choose "Copy to Folder" to copy the file to your hard drive.
B. Multi Files - recommended for Low Bandwidth
Users of a standard modem connection may be interested in downloading several small files rather than one big file. If your Internet connection is interrupted, it will be possible to continue the download from the most recently interrupted file rather than having to start the download process from scratch.
Copy all the files to a temporary folder on your hard drive. Once the copying procedure is complete then run the "exe" file from your hard drive. This will combine the segment files into one file. Please note that this extracting and combining process can take several minutes.

2. Run the patch file
Once the "TurboCADProfessionalv82Patch.exe", "TurboCAD82Patch.exe", or "TurboCADDesignerv82Patch.exe" file is located on your hard drive follow the instructions below.
A. Get your original v8.0, v8.1 CD and place it in your CD ROM. If the AutoRun installation page is launched click the "Exit" button to close this window.
B. Run the appropriate patch file for your version of TurboCAD and the patch should access the original TurboCAD v8.0, v8.1 CD and complete the update.
Note: If you purchased the ESD (Download) version of TurboCAD v8.0 the install files will most likely be located in the "C:\Program Files\TurboCAD Professional v8.0, v8.1 Setup" folder. If you cannot locate this folder you will have to reinstall v8.0, v8.1 and see where the default location for extracting the files is on your hard drive.

- Design Director Palette: Redrawing time in the case of working with large files was reduced.
- 3DS Filter: "Save Keyframe" option was added to Setup dialog for 3DS Export. With "Save Keyframe" option set to OFF, the created 3DS files will not cause problems when used in FloorPlan.
- FloorPlan Print Space Maker: Compatibility with files from FloorPlan v7.x.
- The mechanism, which allowed preventing the appearance of "corrupt" files, was improved.
- Curve. IPF when performing Spline Curve.
- TCW file. IPF when loading some files created in previous TCAD versions.
- OLE. IPF when inserting TCW objects into an MS Word file.
- Insert|File. IPF when inserting a file with metric coordinate system and dimensions into a file with English coordinate system.
- Printing. Problem with text position in a text block when printing from Windows 2000.
- DXF/DWG filter. IPF when reading some files that have certain settings in Custom Properties.
