All of the TurboCAD v7s --
Professional, Standard and Designer -- are now equipped with a new
"setup wizard" to facilitate importing FloorPlan files to be printed
to architectural industry standards and allow for further editing
with TurboCAD’s extensive 2d / 3d drawing and dimensioning tools. We
formally refer to this wizard as our "FloorPlan PrintSpace Maker" –
however, we also often refer to it informally as the "FloorPlan
Bridge". In all of our TCAD v7’s, you will find a menu option to
start this wizard - - from: Tools | FloorPlan PrintSpace Maker or,
you can access it thru its icon, or just by going to : File | Open |
BMF. Here are a few suggestions to help make this transition go
smoothly…
1.) Step thru this wizard a few
times with our sample BMF files--and develop a general familiarity
with its functioning, When the files have been sent to TCAD, – look
thru all the workspace "tab" options to see how the sample files are
translated. And ,be assured, any setting created by using the
FloorPlan Bridge can be edited in TCAD.
2.) Before you start the "Bridge" –Do you
need to print to a specific page size? While in TCAD, Click the
FloorPlan PrintSpace Maker | "Setup" button and select your output
page size now, this will simplify arrangement and sizing of objects
later on...
3.) While in the "Bridge" – Be sure to
look thru both Model Space and Paper Space "Insert" setting options,
the options available will vary for each workspace-Remember, when in
TurboCAD – the "editable model" goes to Model Space—But we generally
expect our print jobs to be done from one or more Paper Spaces. When
finished setting up in the "Bridge", to send the FloorPlan drawing
into TurboCAD click the yellow arrow icon – or go to: File |
Complete

4.) Now we have bridged into TurboCAD –
How do I change the settings for my Paper Space print? The FloorPlan
Bridge’s "Insert | Elevation" tool also are actually creating
viewports in TurboCAD’s Paper Spaces To change those display
settings – select the viewport – then go to" format | properties |
viewport—There, you will have options to set adjust view, layers,
scale and rendering type.
5.) I need to edit the 2d elements of my
drawing, but while in Model Space, I only see the 3d objects? The
"Bridge" is defaulting to send only the 3d layers as visible in
Model Space To view and edit the information on the other layers, go
to: Options | Layers -- and adjust the settings in the visibility
column on the left.
