What's New in FloorPlan 8.2

Below Ground Plane levels are now possible. It is now possible to create 'true' basements, below ground plane and when rendered the ground plane is automatically removed in the enclosed space. An enclosed space using a short wall or invisible walls will also cut the ground plane if equal to or above the plane allowing for 'walk in' basement entries.

• "Paneled Doors": render dark, problem has been fixed.
• Opening Trim defect : Window and Door trim now renders without distortion in Photorealistic renderings. Window glass distortion has been addressed
• Defect "Treads": Stair treads are dark: Dark stair treads in Photorealistic Renderings has been fixed.
• Roof : Problems with gable end 'gaps' and hip / gable combination triangulation has been fixed.
• "Backgrounds": Photorealistic, Background pictures appearing too low (drop) when rendered, has been adjusted.
• "Install" : Symbol Copy does not work , has been fixed.
• "Elevate" defect : Right click, Elevate command did not respond to the Undo command. Undo for Elevate now works correctly.
• "General" :Zoom to Extents problem has been fixed with rooms containing windows and doors.
• "General" . Image disappears from the screen in the Plan View when Zoom Extents if Prepared Site is active has been fixed.
• "Upper Sinks": In some cases sinks insert into upper level cabinets did not work. Sinks can now be inserted into upper level cabinets.
• "Stairs" : Stair. The "Unhandled Exception" message appears when changing "Number of Steps" for Stairs is now fixed.
• "Group" defect: After creating a group at times they did not appear in a Photo Realistic rendering. Create Group now renders as Photo Realistic image.
• "Multiple Sinks": The inability to place several sinks in one cabinet run has been fixed.
• "Symbols" : The defect of symbols retain position after restoring deleted ceiling was fixed.
• "Fences" : Many fence functions were improved or corrected.
• "General" : Problems with Win98 have been addressed (multiple)

What's new in FloorPlan 8.1

• Roof Properties: The mechanism of removing overhangs for roofs between floors was added. On Size page of Roof Properties, "Clipping" option was added, as well as the list of floors, along which the overhangs can be clipped. (For conformity of roofs appearance in the files from earlier FloorPlan versions.)
• Room Properties: The possibility to restore Floor and Ceiling in the rooms where they are absent (for instance, deleted) was added. When Room Properties are called for such room, the names of "Ceiling" and "Floor" buttons are replaced with "Restore Ceiling" and "Restore Floor".
• "Create Group" item was added to the Local Menu - it appears when the Local Menu is called for multiple selected symbols.

Fixes in FloorPlan 8.1
Approximately 40 minor defects that existed in FloorPlan v8 were fixed in FloorPlan v8.1.
Two major printing bugs were fixed:

• A defect related to printing of dimensions and their representation on the screen after printing, was fixed.
• The crash which occurred on attempting to print a BMF file via the Local Menu in Explorer, was fixed.
• Creation of corrupt files: When a BMF file was saved, with "opening" symbols inserted, there could appear a situation where the file could no longer be opened after saving
• OpenGL: The defect was fixed, which led to "scattering" of elements in 3D View or appearance of black areas on the screen (the problem - representation of text - dimensions, room name, etc.)
• The defect of moving symbols from the upper floor to the lower one after deleting a wall was fixed
• File Location: The defect, related to the transfer of parameters, specified in File Location, to the symbols' Properties, was fixed
• Display Room Name: The defect, related to the possibility to turn off displaying of Room Name and Area Value, was fixed
• Light: The defect was fixed, related to incorrect changing of the brightness of lights in the files, created in earlier versions of FloorPlan
• Defects in Drawing Info were fixed
• The mechanism of Groups work was improved
• "Create Group" item was added to the Local Menu. It appears when multiple symbols are selected.
• Cosmetic defects were fixed.

Please update to FloorPlan 7.2 (below) before running the 7.3 patch.

The following items were fixed in version 7.3
(in comparison with version 7.2):

• Default brightness of light sources was changed.
• The range in which brightness values can be set was increased.
• The problem with certain light sources not shining was fixed. Note: When opening files from FloorPlan v7.2, it will be necessary to delete the existing incorrect light sources and set them anew.
• The problem was fixed, which was related to representation in Plan View (Zoom Extents) of the files that have incorrect elements (in v7.2, this caused the entire plan to disappear).
• The problem with representation of stairs that have a circular segment was fixed.
• The possibility to place cabinets from right to left was added.
• Landscape - a limitation of 1000 Nodes was introduced for "Regular Sloped Mesh".
• IPF was fixed, which occurred when removing one section of a cabinet.
• IPF was fixed, which occurred when collapsing the Palette in 3D View.
• IPF was fixed, which occurred in certain cases when calling Properties for a created group.

The following items were fixed in version 7.2
(in comparison with version 7.1):

• Roofs.
  The issue surrounding the corruption of roofs when importing files created in earlier versions of FloorPlan was fixed.
  Hip and Gable segments are now displaying properly when changes are made to the roof properties.
  Multi-level roofs - In 3D view, the default value line selection for roof properties in the Size tab was changed to the first line rather than the selected roof segment.
• Walls.
  Editing Wall position via Inspector Bar was improved.
• Deck, Balconies.
  Many defects were fixed that appeared when Decks and Balconies were built using a Script.
• Symbols.
  The method for adding and new creating symbols by pressing "Add New" or Ctrl + was improved by modifying the "Add New" button function in the Plan View Palette.
  The ability to change parameter settings for Lights was added.
• Rendering.
  Default brightness of light sources was reduced to a more realistic wattage (reduced).
• Landscape.
  Tool tip that displays node elevation was added.
  For the Tool tip to appear:
  Insert a Landscape, select it --> Local Menu/Edit Node. When the cursor hovers over a Node, a Tool tip will appear displaying the Elevation value for the Node.
• Fence/Gate.
  The algorithm of working with Fences and inserting Gates was improved.
• 3DS Filter.
  IPF was fixed, which appeared when 3DS files from TurboCAD were inserted.
  In TurboCAD v8.2, set the "Save Keyframe" option to OFF in Setup dialog for a 3DS file Export. This will allow the user to create 3DS files that can be correctly imported in FloorPlan.
  (TurboCAD v8.0 and v8.1 do not have this option, and complex 3DS files, created in these versions, will not be imported in FloorPlan properly.)
• Installation.
  The algorithm of installing DAO modules was changed.
• Help.
  Cosmetic defects were fixed in many Help sections.
• Miscellaneous
  Undo after deleting Tracing Layer.
  Crash that occurred when deleting a Level in some files.
  IPF that occurred on attempt to edit incorrectly created Driveway.
  IPF that occurred on attempt to use "Apply to" for some files

The list of main problems fixed in FloorPlan v7.1 build 301
(in comparison with FloorPlan v7.0 build 288):

• Working with walls via Inspector Bar was improved; fixed several IPFs (invalid page faults) that were occurring in the course of such work.
• Improvements were made in the function of cutting through the floor of the second floor by means of the stairs.
• Improvements were made in the function of generating Roofs; certain IPFs were fixed, which occurred when changing one of the segments from Hip to Gable for multilevel roofs.
• The Fences with Gates function was improved.
• The function of embedding Sinks in cabinets, located on floors other than the first floor, was improved.
• Fixed, printing to a color printer with Scale option.
• Fixed; incorrect building of a Deck by Scripts, which occurred upon first building a Deck.
• Fixed; representing stairs for Decks, which occurred when changing Locations settings after creating a Deck.
• Several sections in the Help file were fixed.

Users of FloorPlan 3D v6 build 205:
Download FloorPlan v6.0.205.0 Patch (27.4MB)

The patch resolves many of the reported object display errors, slow operation of the object database and the inability to view the new symbols added from the Symbols Pack(s).

Make sure all Anti-Virus protection applications are disabled and no other software applications are running in the background. Delete any patches or files you may have downloaded previously for TurboCAD/FloorPlan and follow the instructions below;

• Click on "Save"
• Save this patch onto your DESKTOP
• Click on "Save"
• After the patch has finished downloading onto your DESKTOP, browse to the patch and double-click on it (This should launch the executable)
• When prompted to "Specify location of FloorPlan 3D v6 installer files", click on BROWSE
• Browse to your CD-ROM drive and view its contents
• Select the folder Fp3d
• Click on "Ok"
• Click on "Continue"

After the patching process has completed;

• Uninstall FloorPlan 3D v6. To do this please go through "Add/Remove Programs" (Start/Settings/Control Panel)
• From the Start/Programs/IMSI FloorPlan 3D v6" program group, run the installation program (Floorplan 3D v6 Setup)

Once your computer has been rebooted, launch FloorPlan 3D (Start/Programs/IMSI Floorplan 3D v6). Check the version by going to Help/About FloorPlan. Your version should read 6.0.209, the latest version.
